Lexus IS220 history

The Lexus IS series, a small family cars or compact executive cars are being sold by lexus since 1999. This model is first introduced as sports model. This model was initially sold under Japan's Toyota Altezza nameplate before the Lexus brand was introduced and 2006 lexus IS model introduced as the second generation design. The Chromed car tail lights that were once fitted to the first generation model called as Altezza lights, the altezza name is still being used to refer to these that are sometimes used in other models too.The first generation was launched in Oct 1998 in Japan while the Lexux IS 200 (GXE10) in europe in 1999 and IS 300 in North America in 2000. The second generation IS was launched in 2006 across the world with v6 powered IS 250 and IS 350.
